Our Program is the only complete program available for weight loss patients in Las Vegas.  We have a surgical program, a medical weight loss program, stock and sell all the appropriate vitamins, shakes, etc, and offer options for patients who have had a bypass and are regaining weight.

We are the only program that offers the full range of possible laparoscopic bariatric operations and newer endoscopic or NOTES (natural orifice transesophageal surgery) operations.  We are exclusive in offering the Stomaphyx procedure for bypass patients who have stretched out their pouch and are regaining weight.

From the first meeting you will meet with Dr Umbach and his Support Team, Dr Umbach also speaks Spanish fluently. Patients are given cell phone numbers for all staff including the surgeon and his wife!  We know that you will have questions and will need support through the steps of change.

We are the only program that allows all patients to come to the support groups that are post op, pre op, and patients from outside programs.  In addition, the support group is lead by a true Psychologist and therefore is more of a therapy session than a gab session.  Finally, our patients see that same Psychologist pre- operatively- So they have plenty of opportunity to work on their issues and find answers.

Why Dr Umbach?

As the Bariatric Medical Director for Valley Health Systems, including Desert Springs, Summerlin, Spring Valley, Centennial and Valley Hospitals, Dr. Umbach brings his expertise of establishing successful bariatric practices to the Las Vegas area. He has previously started up the laproscopic surgical weight loss program at Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco, which services all of Northern California. He then created a “Center of Excellence” program in Eugene, Oregon.  Other notable achievements include; “America’s Top Surgeon 2008,” several “Who’s Who” listings and being an Eagle Scout.

Bariatrics is Dr. Umbach’s Passion! His practice is 100% devoted to surgical weight loss and has been for some time. It brings him great pleasure to see patients shed their excess weight and enjoy the simple pleasures of life; playing with their children or grandchildren, riding a roller coaster for the first time, or starting to date and travel.

Dr. Umbach and his wife, Holly, have two wonderful children, Alex and Taylor. The family enjoys traveling, camping, reading, watching America’s Next Top Model and HGTV, and skiing/snowboarding. They have a wonderful German Sheppard named Cadia, who thinks she’s a lap dog. Dr. Umbach also is a private pilot who loves to fly when he can find a spare moment.
