Blossom has always strived for excellence. Excellent client care, excellent surgeons, excellent support groups, and excellent post-op follow up. But for us, that was not enough–we wanted more.
We are pleased to announce that Blossom Bariatrics has been designated as a Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (COEMBS) by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). This designation recognizes surgical centers with a proven track record of bariatric surgeries with favorable outcomes. Since the SRC promotes only centers with the highest levels of efficacy, efficiency and client safety, both the surgeons and surgical centers must meet strict requirements; one of which is an on site inspection where the SRC examines all aspects of the surgical process.
After the SRC inspection and review, not only was Blossom awarded this designation, but Dr. Tom Umbach was also awarded the Surgeon of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (SOEMBS) designation. In order for a surgeon to receive this designation, they must perform a minimum of 100 bariatric surgeries per year, and also meet the strict requirements laid out by the SRC. The designation is primarily for clients who are seeking world-class bariatric surgeons who are holding themselves to higher standards in their field. Achieving the SOEMBS designation is an honor as it is synonymous with superior care for bariatric clients.
