Dr Andrea
Andrea Schwoerer, MD started her medical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She then went to Cleveland Clinic – Akron General for her residency in general surgery. During her training in Ohio, she spent a year as a research fellow at the Cleveland Clinic Bariatric and Metabolic Institute working with leading experts in the field of minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. She also has presented her work at many national conferences. After completing her general surgery residency, she continued her training and specialized in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery as a clinical fellow at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Andrea’s dedication to the field of bariatric surgery began early on in her career as she saw the positive impact that weight loss surgery had on patients. It is well known that bariatric surgery can improve the health of a patient, but Dr. Andrea believes that it takes more than just the surgery to make a difference. She believes that it is a team effort for successful weight loss – a team that involves the patient, the surgeon, the medical staff, and family/friends. She is excited to be a part of the Blossom team and a part of each patient’s transition to a healthier life.

As Dr. Andrea is a part of a team at work, she is fortunate to have a team of her own at home. She has a very supportive and compassionate husband, Ben, and two overly spoiled cats (Tygra and the Captain). In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with her family.
