How to Prevent Leg Cramps After Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery

Hi, I’m Michelle Phelan, nutritionist at Blossom Bariatrics. Today we are going to answer some frequently asked questions from our clients.

Kim from Las Vegas, Nevada writes, “I still get leg cramps. I was told to watch my intake of bananas after surgery. What can I take for leg cramps?”

Well Kim, there are many things you can take for leg cramping, calf cramping, even eye twitches. This basically is just an imbalance of your electrolytes…your minerals.

For instance, you may try some magnesium supplementation. Avocados are a wonderful source of magnesium and potassium as well. Almonds are a wonderful source of magnesium and potassium.

So those are two wonderful two food groups that you should be able to add into your daily food intake.

I hope you found this information useful. If you have any additional questions, please visit us at www.blossombariatrics.com.

Until next time. Have a healthy day.
