Blossom is no longer offering surgical services.
Thank you everyone for your support for over 15 years!
Blossom is very excited by the advancement in the efficacy of these medications, we want to make sure everyone approaches the medications with a full understanding of what to expect, costs, side effects, and make sure their expectations are in line with the available literature. Our intent is not to instill fear of these medications, as they can be very beneficial to clients who do not have a lot of excess weight to lose, but maintaining weight loss with these medications can prove to be difficult.
As with any new medication there are known and unknown side effects. We have found some articles that outline the immediate and long term side effects that have been discovered.
Over the years, Dr. Tom has perfected the Patented Safe Sleeve® – a unique and safer way to perform a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. The Safe Sleeve is performed laparoscopically and on an outpatient basis and only performed by Dr. Tom or his professionally trained surgeons at Blossom Bariatrics.
Blossom has had thousands of clients who have achieved long term success after weight loss surgery. While these medications can be enticing to try, and show short term results, weight loss surgery is still the best option for long term weight management.
Weight loss surgery still the best option for some with obesity
The average cost of weight loss injections can range from $500-$1000 per month, this can add up quickly over the course of 1 year. And it certainly adds up when considering the maintenance dose required to help you keep off the weight. So a lot of our patients actually will save money in the long run and lose more weight when comparing injections vs surgery.
More and more insurance companies deny long term use of these medications and taking them for 2 years could cost upwards of $24,000!
