Hi, I’m Michelle Phelan, nutritionist at Blossom Bariatrics. Today we are going to answer some frequently asked questions from our patients.
Trevor, from Burlington, Vermont, asks, “I’m thinking of bariatric surgery, but I was told I would be on a liquid or baby food diet. Is this true?”
Well Trevor, actually no. It is not true. Initially, you will be on a liquid, to semi-liquid diet right after surgery. You will graduate to solids and then real food very shortly, especially on our program.
We don’t encourage baby food. We do encourage our patients to resume eating normally-textured foods as soon as possible.
