Hello, my name is Ken. I’ve been coming here to Blossom Bariatrics…well, my first surgery was 3 years and 4 months ago and I have to say that from now to then my life has changed so much.
Thank you, Dr. Tom Umbach. Thank you, staff. We’ve come a long way.
I used to weigh 400 lbs–a little bit over 400 lbs. I’m 173 lbs down now. I used to have to do insulin 5 times per day–2 different kinds of insulin. My A1C was up in the high 15s. I’m down to 5.7 now.
My sister–God rest her soul–passed away, but she was my biggest advocate for this surgery, for getting life, for living. Before I had this surgery–you’ll see another testimonial–that I didn’t want to just walk through life. I didn’t have any ambition and barely walked through life.
Since coming here…their knowledge here…their expertise…their professionalism has brought me to buying pants…slacks with the waist size, instead of how many Xs are in it. I go by the numbers, now. I’ve gone from a 60 inch waist down to a 40 inch waist. This is the rest of my life.
I can live now; I have 5 grandchildren–6 grandchildren! I just had another one! Six grandchildren that can look up to me, now. “Grandpa is here!” I can play with my grandkids…you don’t know what it’s like not to be able to play with your grandkids–to have to sit on the side and watch them and not know what’s going to happen.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I’m so happy. I’m so exuberant. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Blossom Bariatrics. I don’t know where I’d be today if you had not been there for me. Thank you! Thank you!
Again, this is a life changing thing–a life changing until you actually do it, you sit on the side thinking, “Ok, that’s just an actor. That’s something portrayed.” This is real. This is real. This is fun. This is me. This is the NEW me! Wow! Thank you!

I’ve got my grandkids now that I am able to run with and play with and do things with. They don’t have to go to someone else and have it done.
