Hi, I’m Michelle Phelan, Nutritionist at Blossom Bariatrics, and today I’m going to show you some exercises that you can do from home, at about two weeks postop.
Our next exercise is called Genie Ab Twists. So I’m going to have Kristen here sit up nice and tall and straight, shoulders back. She’s going to collect her core, bring her belly button in, knees at a nice 90 degree angle, sitting up nice and tall in her chair. She’s then going to lift her arms up, bend them at the elbow, perfect. Place the forearm, one forearm on top of the other forearm, just like a genie, all right? What Kristen is going to do next is she’s going to bring her right elbow to the outside of her left knee. There you go, fantastic. She’s going to do, sit up nice and tall, collect her core in. She’s going to do the same thing, but on the opposite knee. Perfect, try to do fifteen of these. Rest thirty seconds and do fifteen more, for two sets of fifteen. Good job Kristen, fantastic, way to go.
