Schools out and the kids are playing. We honor Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. So, what do all of these things have in common? It’s SUMMERTIME, BABY!!! And you know what that means… BARBECUE!!

A recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine describes how they provided 3,000 scales for people to weigh themselves daily in efforts to gather data on weight fluctuation over 12 months. The research found that during the holidays, people’s average weights increased, and the majority only shed half that weight gain shortly after, keeping the other half for at least 6 months.

Here’s the good news. Weight gain over the holidays IS avoidable! Especially if you steer clear of the traditional summertime treats: hot dogs, chips, burgers, and booze!

You can still enjoy yourself. Just remember why you started this journey! Stick to protein and veggies and put more value in the time you spend with your family and friends… and the sleeve will take care of the rest. Here Are 3 Simple Tips To Enjoy The Summer Season With Delicious Food!

  1. Kabob It: Thread those protein and veggies through a skewer and lay it on the grill.
  2. Lose the BUN and FLIP IT: Replace the bun with a lettuce wrap or stack your protein on a tomato ‘bun’! You can still get all the flavors from a charbroiled burger while staying within your limits.
  3. Freeze Your Own Popsicles: With a mold, take your favorite protein shake or crystal lite flavor mixed with water and make a delicious, cold popsicle! No need to sacrifice the treats while jeopardizing your hard work.
